A curator is the expert responsible with organizing and managing collections of cultural, artistic or scientific objects in museums, galleries or other similar institutions, private or public. A curator selects the pieces that will be displayed publicly and ensures their maintenance. At the same time, they identify an educational and attractive way through which the selected pieces can be presented to the public.

Creates educational materials about the collection pieces and helps in promoting the collections and the activities of the employer.
Coordinates conservation and restoration activities to keep exhibits in the best possible condition.
Collaborates with various departments involved in ongoing projects and activities.
Coordinates colleagues and volunteers involved in cultural activities.
Interacts and collaborates with other cultural institutions or organizations relevant to the activities carried out.

Specialized knowledge
Solid knowledge in fields such as history, archeology, visual arts and cultural heritage.
Knowledge of management and coordination of cultural activities.
Basic digital skills and familiarity with digital tools that can support exhibition organization and enhance the experience of the visitor.

Qualifications
A person that wishes to become a curator should:
Have university studies (bachelor’s or master’s degree) in one or more relevant fields. Examples of such fields include:

Archeology
Anthropology
Gain practical experience in museums, galleries or other cultural institutions
