Qualifications
A person who wants to become a police officer must go through the following steps:
Finish high school with a diploma and meet physical, medical, and psychological requirements.
Apply for and complete a bachelor’s or professional master’s program to become a police officer, or a post-secondary program to become a police agent, organized by institutions under the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In some cases, the Ministry of Internal Affairs may organize recruitment through direct employment. In this case, during the first year, the police officer must take an initiation course at a professional training institution of the Ministry.
For Local Police officers, entry into the profession is based on an exam organized by the local administration. In this case, officers working in public order or traffic safety will take part in initial training at an educational institution of the Ministry.
