Qualifications
To become a general practitioner / family doctor, one must:
Complete a medical degree (6 years) from an accredited Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy.
Pass the national residency entrance exam and choose the specialty “Family Medicine.”
Complete a 4-year residency in Family Medicine to become a resident doctor.
Pass the specialist exam after residency to obtain the qualification of Family Medicine Specialist.
Register with the Romanian College of Physicians (CMR) and obtain an annual practice license, including taking the Hippocratic Oath.
