Qualifications
To become a psychologist, a person typically needs to:
Complete a bachelor’s degree in psychology (3 years) from an accredited university.
Complete a master’s degree in psychology (2 years) from an accredited university.
Register with the Romanian College of Psychologists and obtain authorization for practice, initially as a supervised psychologist.
Gain at least one year of supervised professional experience with a positive evaluation.
For certain specializations (psychotherapy, psychological counseling, forensic psychology), complete additional long-term professional training.
After fulfilling these requirements, the psychologist can apply for autonomous practice.
